The prices of around 4,500 drugs will be reduced in the Kingdom, per Morocco’s Official Bulletin of January 1, following Health Minister Khalid Ait Taleb’s directive last month.
The decision refers to the review of public sales prices for original, generic and vital similarly classified medications marketed in Morocco.
A list of the pharmaceuticals subject to the audit has been prepared, and updated price schedules have been released based on this evaluation.
The move is in accordance with appropriation bill No. 55.23 for fiscal year 2024, which also extends the VAT exemption for medications and their associated raw materials utilized in their manufacture, as well as non-reference rolls for pharmaceuticals.
