Moroccan company Air Ocean Maroc has won the bid to provide all needed medical assistance for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire, outperforming global contestants in an intense bidding process held by the African Football Confederation (CAF) for the tournament which begins next week.
A Moroccan medical aircraft, a Learjet45, flew from Ben Slimane Airport in northern Morocco to Côte d’Ivoire on Monday carrying specialized medical staff onboard, including two emergency/disaster medical experts.
The Moroccan air ambulance is equipped with cutting-edge medical equipment. It will be on standby at Abidjan Airport throughout the African Cup, ready to handle any medical emergency that may arise among the 24 participating teams.
Air Ocean is a member of the AOM Aviation Group, which has been a major player in the aviation business since 2015, providing full aviation services. The group’s expansion is ongoing, with AOM Air Charter offering private charter flights and AOM Air Ambulance providing air ambulance services.
