Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita reiterated the crucial role of negotiations and adherence to the two-state solution for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In response to a question from the Justice and Development Party (PJD) on Friday, Bourita stated unequivocally Morocco’s opposition to Israeli actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Al Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“We reiterate our strong rejection of Israel’s aggression since the escalation of armed confrontations and violence in Gaza,” stated Bourita, pointing out the importance of negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians.
He asserted that this approach remains the sole way towards achieving a final, permanent, and comprehensive settlement to the Palestinian issue.
He called for de-escalation measures leading to a lasting ceasefire, the revival of the peace process, and the prevalence of stability in the Middle East.
Bourita concluded by saying that the Kingdom of Morocco prioritizes the Palestinian cause as it does its own national cause.
