Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) Joshua Harris expressed his gratitude to Princess Lalla Joumala, Morocco’s former Ambassador to the U.S., for her remarkable contribution to the enduring relationship between the United States and Morocco over the past seven years.
The Saturday meeting between the two officials centered on deepening cooperation in security, politics, and culture, and underlined the historic partnership between the two nations.
Princess Lalla Joumala Alaoui has been named recently the National U.S. – Arab Chamber of Commerce’s (NUSACC) Ambassador of the Year 2023.
Since her appointment in 2016, Lalla Joumala had contributed significantly to bolstering the Morocco-U.S. ties in various sectors, including politics, economy, education, culture, and charity.
As part of her long record as a Moroccan diplomat, Lalla Joumala also served as Ambassador to the U.K. from 2009 to 2016. She heads the Lalla Hasnaa Orphanage in Casablanca which provides education and foster care to orphans and abandoned children.
