Snowfall at a height of 1,700 m and locally significant wind gusts are expected in many provinces of the Kingdom from Thursday to Friday, stated the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) on Tuesday, raising the orange level warning.
Locally significant snowfalls (10-30 cm) are forecast in the provinces of Ifrane, Boulemane, Guercif, Taza, and Sefrou from Thursday at 6:00 P.M. through Friday at 6:00 P.M., according to the same source.
The DGM cautioned that high wind gusts (75/90 km/h) will impact the provinces of Driouch, Nador, Berkane, Jerada, Figuig, Boulemane, and Midelt on Friday from 12:00 A.M. to 11:00 P.M.
Heavy downpours with occasional thunderstorms (25-50 mm) are forecast in the prefectures and provinces of Larache, Tangier-Assilah, Ouezzane, Tétouan, Sidi Kacem and Kénitra from Thursday at 6:00 P.M. to Friday at 6:00 A.M.
