Dr. Bakhat Jamal, a forensic pathologist, has vehemently defended the autopsy findings of death by “natural causes” of Mourad Seghir, an ex-military doctor who died in a Tangier hospital emergency room, raising suspicions of wrongdoing and garnering social media attention.
The initial autopsy, which was carried out by a tripartite medical commission, determined that Seghir died of natural causes attributed to congestive heart failure caused by a narrowing of the left coronary artery, accompanied by a gastrointestinal bleeding due to ulcers.
Dr. Jamal, who examined the body, confirmed that there were no signs of violence or bruising on Seghir’s corpse, contrary to unsubstantiated social media accusations.
Dr. Jamal expressed disappointment for any doubts regarding the medical commission competence and asked skeptics to “seek legal counsel.”
His conclusions correspond with the statement issued by the Tangier Prosecutor’s Office, which revealed the circumstances leading up to Seghir’s death.
Previously, administrative staff and the attending physician asserted that Seghir died of respiratory failure despite medical efforts after being admitted in critical condition on November 11.
Seghir, a YouTube influencer noted for his outspoken comments, had alleged “dangerous secrets and revelations” about Moroccan public figures. His prominence, along with his espousal of conspiracy theories, sparked skepticism amongst the public that his sudden death was due solely to natural causes.
