The coastal surveillance units of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces (FAR) nabbed 44 sub-Saharan African, illegal immigrants, including 13 women and 3 minors, on Tuesday off the coast of Dakhla in southern Morocco, according to the FAR’s General Staff statement.
The would-be immigrants were trying to illegally sail to Europe in a rubber dinghy.
The individuals received necessary medical care before being handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie to undergo standard administrative booking and detention procedures.
