The Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech Museum (MYSLM) will share its expertise and experience at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris and with its field cohorts at the National Art Center in Tokyo in December, for the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition, “Across the Style in Tokyo.”
Sahar Lamsyah, coordinator of museum management at MYSLM, will bring her professional portfolio to her colleagues at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris and to the teams at the National Art Center in Tokyo later this month.
This unique tripartite collaboration was initiated last September during the installation of this exhibition thanks to the participation of Hayate Machache, curator at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum Marrakech.
The Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech Museum, which opened its doors in the fall of 2017 near the Majorelle Garden, is a true cultural center that features a permanent exhibition space.
It also houses a temporary exhibition space, photography gallery, auditorium, reference library, bookstore, and a cafe-restaurant.
A dedicated collections area occupies the basement and ensures optimal conditions for the preservation of the items in the exhibition.
This exhibition marks the first retrospective of the designer’s works ever to be staged in Japan after his death.
According to Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris, the event showcases a comprehensive overview of Yves Saint Laurent’s work–throughout his four-decade-long career–from his debut at the tender age of 21 as the first collection which appeared under his own brand, to the emergence of his own unique style, through 110 of the designer’s looks as well as accessories, drawings, and photographs in 12 chapters.
