Ghita Mezzour, Minister for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, presided over the signing of an agreement last week between the Ministry, the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), and N+ONE, a leading data center company, represented by founder and CEO Amine Kandil, according to an announcement by the Ministry.
The agreement stipulates the construction of a new data center in Casablanca, in the province of Nouaceur, with a total surface area of 2,000 m² to be operational by 2024.
The forthcoming facility will help accelerate the digitalization of enterprises across the country. It is expected to provide a strong infrastructure for hosting applications and data, allowing for the delivery of secure online application services with minimal downtime.
The arrangement aligns with Morocco’s national objective for digital development, which views the data center and cloud industry as critical infrastructure to help speed along country’s digital transformation.
Additionally, it helps promote the nation’s objective to foster the establishment of local and foreign businesses in order to produce competitive, secure, and dependable cloud service products for domestic and international markets.
