The National Police (DGSN) of Casablanca, in collaboration with Territory Surveillance Services (DGST) thwarted a significant international drug trafficking operation on Friday, and seized six tons and 550 kg of cannabis resin (locally known as chira), the DGSN announced in a press release.
According to security sources, the search operation took place near the Casablanca-Bouznika highway exit, resulting in the seizure of two cars and the massive quantity of the illegal substance packed in bundles.
Under the supervision of the public prosecution, authorities are conducting an investigation to ascertain the details and circumstances surrounding this crime.
The security operation is part of the ongoing and intensive efforts by the DGSN and the DGST to combat international drug trafficking and its illicit trade.
