The World Airport Awards demonstrated that Moroccan airports continue to dominate the rankings in terms of passengers and cargo air traffic, with Marrakech Menara Airport and Casablanca Mohammed V Airport ranking among the best in Africa in 2023.
According to the global rankings, the Mohammed V Airport of Casablanca claimed the fourth spot in Africa, while the Marrakech Menara Airport secured the sixth position in the same continent.
The Marrakech Menara Airport serves as a key international hub, welcoming numerous European and domestic flights, as well as flights from some Arab countries. It will be receiving flights from North America as of 2024.

As per the World Airport Awards, the leading airport in Africa is Cape Town Airport, with Durban King Shaka Airport coming in second and Johannesburg Airport ranking third.
