Speaker of the Lower House Rachid Talbi El Alami and President of the Senegalese National Assembly Amadou Mame Diop signed a cooperation protocol on Wednesday in Dakar to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two legislative institutions.
The two signed the memorandum during the working visit of Talbi El Alami to Senegal, who led a significant parliamentary delegation including President of the Authenticity and Modernity Group Ahmed Touizi, President of the Socialist Group Abderrahim Chahid, President of the Constitutional Democratic and Social Group Chaoui Belassal, and President of the Progress and Socialism Group Rachid Hamouni.
Senegal’s President Macky Sall received Talbi El Alami at the Presidential Palace in Dakar.
The protocol endeavors to continue promoting policies aimed at developing appropriate strategies for the best practices of the Parliament, and to conduct studies which lead to the production of technical documents in various areas, as a basis for exchange between the members of parliament and senior officials of both legislative institutions.
It also aims to organize seminars and training for senior officials and to provide necessary technical assistance to both parliamentary bodies.
Both parties expressed their commitment to formalize and deepen their friendship and cooperation–particularly through the exchange of legislative, administrative, and organizational expertise–as well as through streamlining the channels of communication between members of both governing bodies.
