The Judicial Police (BNPJ) brought 25 individuals, involved in what has become known as the “Malian Case,” before the Public Prosecutor at the Casablanca Appeal Court on Thursday morning. Out of the 25 suspects, only five are being prosecuted while in custody.
The Malian, AKA Hadj Ahmed Ben Ibrahim, is a drug baron who was arrested in 2019 and incarcerated in El Jadida penitentiary for international drug trafficking. Several media reports concur that Hadj Ahmed Ben Ibrahim was a simple camel shepherd before he was propelled into organized crime and drug trafficking networks in the Sahel and the Sahara.
