Tangier police services have foiled a trafficking operation of psychotropic drugs and seized 131,864 ecstasy pills, in a collaborative effort with Territory Surveillance services (DGST) on Tuesday, as per a press release by the National Police (DGSN).
Police also arrested a 34yo dealer, with a criminal record, in the northern regions of Gzenaya and Sebt Zinat (Tangier’s suburbs). The suspect is wanted nationally for his allegedly belonging to a criminal ring operating in drug trafficking.
The sting operation, as well as the search of the trafficker’s many dwellings, helped find the pills stashed in plastic bags. Policemen also seized a car and an amount of 971,537 MAD.
The suspect was remanded in custody to complete the investigation under the relevant public prosecution.
