Three French tourists were detained in Marrakech on Monday morning for allegedly possessing and distributing counterfeit money.
According to a security source, the suspects, aged 29 to 30, used multiple bogus bank notes to cover their hotel bills in Marrakech before being caught, at which time they were in possession of more fake bank notes.
Police discovered 25 counterfeit euro bills during search operations.
To investigate this matter and establish its potential repercussions, the defendants were submitted to a judicial inquiry overseen by the public prosecutor’s office.
