On Sunday, a car collided with a motorcade SUV that was part of Joe Biden’s security detail traveling through a city in Delaware after Biden shared a meal with members of his re-election team, reported several international news outlets.
Both Biden and the First Lady, Jill Biden–also in the vehicle at the time of the crash–were unharmed.
The offending automobile hit a Secret Service vehicle that was being used to close off traffic near the re-election headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, in advance of Biden’s departure.
Secret service agents and heavily armed police were at the scene and soon surrounded the sedan, which stopped in the center of an intersection outside a Bank of America branch.
“There was no protective interest associated with this event and the president’s motorcade departed without incident,” Secret Service spokesperson Special Agent Steve Kopek said in a statement.
Officers were seen speaking to the driver but the conversation appeared calm.
