Orange Atelier revealed Rabat’s beach development plan, a 220-meter-long project with a total surface area of 3,200 square meters, as part of the Kingdom’s capital development goal, which is now nearing completion.
It includes a variety of vending services located on a spacious esplanade, offering with its crescent shape an unobstructed view of the seaside landscape, the Kasbah wall, and the Rabat lighthouse.
Saad Deriouch, Deputy Managing Director of “Orange Atelier,” enthusiastically reported in a statement to news agency MAP that the architectural firm in charge of the project emphasized that the design– which embodies the new dynamic showcasing Rabat’s rich architectural heritage–aims to exponentially revitalize the capital’s walkability factor.
It is an environmentally-friendly ambition, with photovoltaic panels and water purification plants that take into account measures to protect against sand erosion, he noted.
Architect and project manager Basma Boujendar explained that the project aims to meet the entertainment, catering and sporting needs of the people of Rabat and beyond, thus providing the beach with a new aura.
“This project revitalizes a very rich heritage, particularly the Kasbah and Sidi El Yabouri walls, as well as the historic beach cemetery,” she added.
The Rabat beach development project offers additional water sports activities such as surfing and paddling, in addition to sanitary facilities and a variety of other detached structures.
