The National Crime Observatory, under the Criminal Affairs, Pardons, and Crime Detection Division at the Justice Ministry, and the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday in Marrakech.
The agreement was concluded during the international conference organized by the Justice Ministry under the theme “Judicial Application of Alternative Penalties: Challenges and Issues.”
Secretary-General of the Ministry Abderrahim Miad and Vice President of NAUSS in charge of foreign relations Khalid bin Abdulaziz Alharfash signed the MoU.
The agreement focuses on strengthening cooperation and partnership in detecting and combating various forms of criminal acts, according to a press release by the National Crime Observatory.
The memorandum also seeks to enhance an active partnership between the two entities by supporting and developing scientific research and innovation, building the capacities and skills of specialized human resources, as well as promoting knowledge and raising awareness in the fight against crime.
It also aims to reinforce communication channels and support regional partnerships among different entities working towards the same goals.
