Qatar’s Al Jazeera reporter Heba Akila announced that the channel’s Gaza correspondent, Wael Dahdouh and cameraman, Samer Abu Daqqa, were the target of an Israeli attack on a school in Khan Younès on Friday, as reported by Reuters.
Wael and Samer’s injuries were caused by shrapnel from a missile fired by an Israeli army drone.
Wael was hit in the arm and was taken to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younès for treatment.
Samer Abu Daqqa, on the other hand, remains trapped inside the Farhana school, where rescue teams have been unable to evacuate the wounded.
Palestinian journalist Dahdouh lost his entire family in an Israeli strike in the Gaza Strip in late October. The aerial attack had hit the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing more than 25 people.
