The United Kingdom appointed Rob Butler as the Prime Minister’s trade envoy to Morocco, announced British Ambassador to Rabat Simon Martin in a tweet on Wednesday.
This development is a byproduct of the UK-Morocco trade agreement, and demonstrates the UK’s eagerness to strengthen the two Kingdoms’ bilateral ties.
As for Butler, he tweeted “Relations between our two countries are already extremely strong. I look forward to playing my part in building more trade opportunities that create jobs and generate wealth for both the UK and Morocco.”
Butler has been a member of the Conservative Party and Member of Parliament for “Aylesbury” since Dec. 2019.
From September to October of 2022, he held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Prisons and Probations.
