Tourist arrivals to Morocco surged to 13.2 million during the first 11 months of 2023, surpassing the previous annual record of 12.9 million tourists in 2019, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts.
The figure represents a remarkable 36% increase over last year’s figures. In November, 2023 alone, approximately one million tourists flocked to Morocco, marking a 9% rise from November, 2022.
This positive momentum underscores the effectiveness of the promotional and air transport initiatives implemented by Morocco, as well as its growing appeal as a highly sought after tourist destination.
“We are thrilled with these outstanding results, which encourage and motivate us to further our efforts with all stakeholders in the sector. The early realization of the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap is clearly yielding results, and we are well on track to surpass the target of 14 million tourists by the end of December 2023,” beamed Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Fatim-Zahra Ammor.
