Pratt & Whitney Maroc, a major player in the global aeronautical industry, signed a contract on Thursday at Rabat’s Ministry of Industry and Trade headquarters for the acquisition of land needed for the construction of a new factory in the MidParc Casablanca zone.
Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour and Canadian ambassador to Morocco Isabelle Vallois, attended the signing ceremony.
Pratt & Whitney Maroc will invest with an amount estimated at 715 million MAD. The company will produce detailed static and structural machinery components for various aircraft engine models and is expected to create 200-250 jobs once the factory reaches its full capacity by 2030.
This industrial project, expected to be a driving force within the engineering field, will facilitate the establishment of a mindset focused on the growth and development of local suppliers. It will also open up new opportunities for the development of innovative, highly specialized activities with a significant impact on both the economy and society as a whole.
“We welcome Pratt & Whitney’s choice of Morocco, which is one of the major players in the global aeronautical industry. This reflects the confidence and interest shown by the group in the Moroccan aeronautical base, once again illustrating its competitiveness, the quality of its human capital, and the trust it has built with global stakeholders,” said Mezzour.
“We fully support the company’s projects in Morocco and hope that their activities will thrive and expand further in the Kingdom,” added the minister.
