Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Abu Dhabi and will hold talks with his Emirati counterpart, President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, announced Russian state-owned news agency TASS on Wednesday.
The initial meeting will include the presidents’ respective delegations and will be followed by one-on-one talks. After completing his agenda in Abu Dhabi, Putin will travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for talks with Saudi Prime Minister and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
Putin will bestow gifts upon his hosts in accordance with the standard protocol and traditions of high-level overseas missions, added TASS.
This visit follows Putin’s previous trip to the UAE and Saudi Arabia in October, 2019.
King Mohammed VI undertook an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, which started on Monday, upon the invitation of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
According to TASS, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit that the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum will convene its first meeting post-COVID in Marrakech in December.
