The Moroccan government and the Safran group formalized a framework on Tuesday to step up their collaboration to support and develop Morocco’s aerospace industrial ecosystem.
The deal, based on three guiding principles, intends to increase Safran’s presence in Morocco and promote the country’s aerospace sector.
Those principles include building a high-quality local supply chain, bolstering research and technology operations, and fostering talent and skills through training and educational collaborations.
Morocco’s Minister of Higher Education Abdellatif Miraoui, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Taoufiq Moucharraf, and the CEO of the Safran group, Olivier Andreis, attended the signing ceremony.
Miraoui emphasized the significance of developing specialized aeronautics courses and establishing cooperative units with Moroccan institutions in areas such as engineering, research and development, test benchmarking, and simulation.
Andriès underlined that the agreement reflects the continuation of mutually beneficial efforts to develop a robust aerospace industry ecosystem in Morocco.
Safran is an international, high-technology group operating worldwide in the fields of aeronautics (propulsion, equipment, and interiors), space, and defense.
Safran Aircraft Engine Services Morocco is a Safran subsidiary in partnership with Royal Air Maroc. Specialising in the maintenance of CFM56 engines, the site handles the entire maintenance process, from diagnosis to test bench.
