Morocco’s northern city of Tangier will host the 47th Arab Police and Security Leaders Conference on Wednesday and Thursday, the Arab Interior Minister Council announced in a release.
The conference will address various topics such as the use of modern technology in terrorist and organized crime, a participatory coordination mechanism among Arab countries to deal with the treatment of injured police officers, the recommendations of security sector chiefs’ conferences and committee meetings that were held by the Secretariat during 2023.
Discussions will focus on a report on the work of the Arab Police Sports Federation for 2023, and review some of the outstanding security experiences of some of the member states.
The winning work of the Secretariat’s annual awareness-raising film competition will be presented at the Conference as part of efforts to raise awareness and prevent crime.
Senior security officials in various Arab States as well as representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Interpol, the UN Counter-Terrorism Office, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the European Border and Coastal Guard Agency, the Counter-Terrorism and Criminal Justice Project, the European Union Law Enforcement Training Agency, the European Police Service, the African Police Cooperation Union, Naif Arab University of Security Sciences, and the Arab Police Sports Federation will be attending the event.
Finally, the Secretariat-General will submit the Conference’s recommendations to the next session of the Council of Arab Ministers of the Interior for appropriate action.
