Neo Motors, the first Moroccan-owned automobile manufacturer, conducted a ceremony on Friday in the Rabat outskirts (Ain Ouda) celebrating the delivery of its new line of “Neo” cars.
Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour attended the ceremony.
Neo vehicles contributed to the promotion of the “Made in Morocco” label and the reinforcement of Morocco’s position as a competitive platform for automobile production.
On this occasion, Minister Mezzour praised the delivery of the first vehicles from the Moroccan-owned brand, emphasizing that this project aligns with the lofty royal directives aimed at spurring the private sector towards productive investments–particularly in advanced sectors–and stimulating the emergence of a new generation of home-grown enterprises.
During the event, Neo Motors also inaugurated the expansion of its factory, aiming to increase its production capacity and develop new vehicle ranges.
Neo Motors CEO Nassim Belkhayat said that in the initial phase, the company will deliver the cars to customers who had placed orders in March and April, and noted that it has already received over 200 orders.
As for pricing, it ranges from 175,000 MAD for the three-cylinder version to 185,000 MAD for the four-cylinder category. They are both outfitted with gasoline engines manufactured at the Stellantis factory in Kénitra. The new “Neo” car is equipped with a retractable roof and a large trunk containing a cargo capacity of 350 liters, as well as with other state-of-the-art features.
The prototype of the Neo Motors vehicle was first presented to King Mohammed VI back on May 15 at the Royal Palace in Rabat.
