Morocco’s Head of National Police (DGSN) and of Territory Surveillance (DGST), Abdellatif Hammouchi, held talks with Director of the State Protection and Intelligence Directorate of the Republic of Austria, Omar Haijawi Pirchner, on Tuesday in Vienna.
The discussion took place on the eve of the DGST’s participation in the 91st General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization, Interpol, that is being held in Vienna from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1.
The meeting between Hammouchi and his Austrian counterpart focused on ways to strengthen security cooperation between Morocco and Austria, as well as mechanisms for joint cooperation to meet the various security challenges and threats.
The meeting included executives and officials from the DGSN and the DGST, as well as officials from the State Protection and Intelligence Directorate of the Republic of Austria.
The meeting reflects Morocco’s commitment to strengthening international security cooperation and demonstrates the Kingdom’s commitment to share its knowledge and expertise in combating terrorism and organized crime with the security forces of other friendly countries, as well as international partners.
