Chad will seize the initiative of King Mohammed VI that would enable the Sahel countries to gain access to the Atlantic Ocean, in order to trade more effectively with the rest of the world and particularly with Morocco, stated Chadian Minister of Communication and Government Spokesperson, Aziz Mahamat Saleh.
Through this initiative, Chad, with its historically secular emphasis and location at the crossroads of ancient trade routes, must take the initiative, emphasized the Chadian minister in a speech during a luncheon organized on Thursday in honor of the local press by the Ambassador of Morocco in N’Djamena, Abdellatif Erroja.
The Director of the High Authority of Media and Audiovisual, publishers, editors-in-chief, and journalists took part in this luncheon.
“The administration will make use of the open access to the Atlantic Ocean through Morocco more than ever in this conflict-ridden and Chad-centric environment in order to improve commerce with the rest of the world and especially with the Kingdom,” added the minister.
The Moroccan ambassador to Chad specifically emphasized that this luncheon was an opportunity to highlight the dynamic development of Morocco, which is reflected in initiatives to structure projects increasingly of a bilateral and multilateral nature.
In his speech on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Green March, the monarch called for enabling Sahel countries—in order to upgrade infrastructure and communications networks–to gain access to the Atlantic Ocean, emphasizing that Morocco will place its road, port, and rail infrastructure at the disposal of its Sahelian neighbors.
