Princess Lalla Meryem chaired the opening ceremony of the Diplomatic Circle’s Charity Bazaar at the National Library in Rabat on Saturday.
Lalla Meryem toured various stands showcasing a diverse array of handicrafts and local products from several countries and took a souvenir photo with members of the Diplomatic Circle.
Princess Lalla Meryem was greeted by Culture Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family Aawatif Hayar, Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region Mohamed Yacoubi, and other officials.
For over thirty years, the Diplomatic Circle’s Charity Bazaar has played a vital role in Rabat’s social fabric, serving as a celebration of friendship and solidarity. The event unites thousands of people contributing collectively to support the less fortunate.
As a key activity of the Diplomatic Circle, the Bazaar brings together spouses of mission heads and representatives of international organizations, aiming to assist the vulnerable while fostering the values of brotherhood and generosity across cultural and religious diversities.
The event acts as a crucial fundraising mechanism, channeling funds to Moroccan NGOs involved in education, health, and rural women’s empowerment.
This year’s edition features representatives from around thirty countries and international organizations, showcasing diverse products from Africa, America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Moroccan cooperatives run by women.
A portion of the funds will be used to support victims of the earthquake that hit Morocco on September 7.
