The French-Speaking Network of Energy Regulators (RegulaE.Fr) appointed Chairman of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) Abdellatif Bardach as its head at the close of its General Meeting held on Wednesday in Rabat.
The expatriate director of Controller of the Régie de l’énergie du Québec Simon Turmel, passed the torch of presidency to Bardach at a solemn ceremony.
Bardach said “There is no better way to pay tribute to my counterparts than to insist on taking action. It will be a precious opportunity to carry the voice of the Kingdom and to serve my country by assuming these new functions.”
He concluded by saying that consolidating Morocco’s concrete achievements in the field of renewable energies will also be a priority, in particular by working towards the effective implementation of energy interconnections.
It is a recognition of Morocco’s tireless efforts in the field of renewable energies.
This new investiture comes at a time when ANRE is hosting the RegulaE.Fr Workshop and General Assembly on November 21-22 in Rabat–in partnership with the European Commission and with the participation of 160 personalities from 21 countries—and headed by the chairmen of the regulatory authorities of the African countries which are members of the Network.
Abdellatif Bardach is currently President of the Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators (MEDREG), and ANRE asserts that this recognition serves to greatly enhance the Kingdom’s credibility with international organizations and associations.
