Berkane Court of First Instance convicted the daughter of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, and sentenced her to a one-month suspended prison sentence while fining her 5,000 MAD.
The court also decided to suspend the driving license of the individual, age 28, for a period of six months.
Sadiki’s daughter was arrested at the end of July after causing a traffic accident in the city of Saidia while under the influence of alcohol.
She was driving at a reckless speed in the Marina Saidia area at around 2 A.M. when she collided with a car carrying a Moroccan expatriate who was on summer vacation with his family.
While reverberations of the incident were confined to property damage, police services also found six grams of cannabis resin inside her car, in addition to a bottle of “King Charles” whiskey.
