Morocco’s under-17 football team qualified for the World Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday after defeating the Iranian team in the round of 16 at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya, Indonesia.
The Iranian team’s Ismail Ghulizadeh scored the first goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Morocco’s Nassim Al-Azuzi equalized in minute 90.
The game went into a tense penalty shootout, with Morocco eventually winning.
The Iranian team missed two penalties while the Moroccan Cubs demonstrated their upper hand by netting four.
In the quarter-finals, the Moroccan team will face Mali, which qualified by defeating Mexico 5-0 on Tuesday.
