Head of Morocco’s Prison Administration (DGAPR) Mohamed Salah Tamek met with Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Todd D. Robinson on Tuesday in Rabat.
Discussions between the two parties focused on the various benefits of expertise sharing, including the management and strengthening of security within penitentiary institutions, as well as the training of officials from the DGAPR and the development of prisoner rehabilitation programs, said DGAPR in a statement.
Tamek and Robinson agreed to continue their cooperation and to further enrich it by integrating new areas in the future, thereby making the DGAPR a pioneering platform for penitentiary professional training at the regional level.
Todd D. Robinson also visited the “centre national de formation des cadres” in Tiflet on Wednesday, where he toured its many facilities and learned about training programs for penitentiary employees, which are part of the DGAPR’s strategy to improve staff performance to ensure the humanization of the prison environment.
