Sporting Club Casablanca (SCC) women’s football team qualified, on Wednesday, for the final of the third edition of the Women’s African Football Confederation (CAF), in their first entry in the tournament’s history.
The Sporting Casablanca women’s incursion came after they beat the Ghanaian team Ampem Darkoa, culminating in a 3-2 shootout, after the Blazers and extra runs ended with two goals in each goal target, at Laurent Pokou of San Pedro Stadium.
The team remains the only representative of Moroccan football in next Sunday’s final against the Mamelodi Sundowns, which knocked out the Moroccan Sports Association of the Royal Army Forces (As FAR), also on Wednesday.
Sporting Casablanca, founded in 2019, is an amazing women’s club that has quickly progressed through the ranks.
Within two years, the team was promoted to the first division and demonstrated their abilities by finishing third in their maiden season in that division in 2021-2022.
