Morocco’s mixed taekwondo team made history on Thursday, finishing second in the world with a silver medal at the World Taekwondo Championships in Goyang, South Korea.
The mixed squad earned its spot after a tense final against Brazil, which ended 2-0.
The team’s path to the final included 2-0 victories over Mexico in the quarterfinals and Côte d’Ivoire in the semifinals.
Concurrently, Morocco’s national women’s taekwondo team clinched the title of vice-champion, collecting a well-deserved silver medal on Tuesday.
Following a hard-fought final against the host country, South Korea, the match ended with a 2-0 victory for the Korean squad.
The Moroccan women taekwondo team qualified for the title match after defeating Côte d’Ivoire 2-0 in the quarterfinals.
The semifinals also featured a challenging match against Mexico, with the Moroccan squad winning 2-1.
Moroccan athletes, both female and mixed teams, displayed outstanding ability and determination on the international stage.
