Morocco’s para-cycling team earned a place in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games after placing 7th in the global rankings and qualifying for the World Championships held in Glasgow from August 5 to 13, according to the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation (FRMC).
Moroccan cyclists Haitam Al Amraoui and Mohamed Bouchfar secured 10th and 16th place respectively in the mid-October world rankings released by the International Cycling Union (UCI).
Moroccan champions Al Amraoui and Bouchfar were awarded the title of African champions in Accra. Al Amraoui, representing the Beauséjour cycling club, clinched the gold in the road race at the African Championship in Accra, held from February 8 to 17, while Bouchfar (COD Meknès) secured the gold medal in the individual time trial (category C2).
Morocco, Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana will represent Africa at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
