Morocco and Azerbaijan inked several accords during the 2nd Joint Committee meeting in Rabat, strengthening bilateral relations in sectors such as logistics, energy, environment, labor legislation, and health and medical sciences. The meeting was co-chaired by Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita and his counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, on Monday.
In the field of logistics, the two officials signed a cooperative agreement designed to enhance collaboration between the two countries in the areas of construction of logistics facilities, enhanced commercial chains, and joint efforts in logistic training as well as the exchange of expertise.
In the energy sector, the two nations agreed to exchange information to broaden cooperation in oil-and-gas-related exploration and of overall energy-related services, along with conducting joint research regarding renewable energy sources.
Environment and Sustainable Development constitute a key focus with an MoU aiming to enhance bilateral cooperation focusing on climate change, green economy initiatives, marine pollution prevention, and optimal use of natural resources.
The collaboration extends to the labor sphere, as well, clearly reflected in another MoU between Morocco’s Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This agreement seeks to cooperatively enforce labor laws, ensure workplace safety, resolve disputes, develop market policies, enhance employment services, and improve workforce quality.
In the realm of health and medical sciences, the two states’ Health Ministries signed an MoU to foster mutual technical informational exchange with respect to disease prevention, and to facilitate access to medical care, especially for those with disabilities.
