Morocco Delegation in Riyadh for Arab FM Emergency Summit

Morocco  participated in an urgent meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, today, in advance of an emergency Arab summit scheduled for Saturday to review developments in Gaza and discuss a draft resolution.

Ahmed Tazi, the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Cairo and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, led the Moroccan delegation that included Mustapha Mansouri, Moroccan Ambassador to Riyadh; Fouad Akhrif, Director of the Middle East, Gulf, and Arab and Islamic Organizations Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Resident Abroad.

Abdelali Al-Jahiz, Head of the Department of Arab and Islamic Organizations at the Ministry, and Hicham Ould Sallay, Morocco’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the Arab League, also represented Morocco at the meeting.

The Kingdom’s Organization of Islamic Cooperation is planning an Extraordinary Islamic Summit in Riyadh to review possible resolutions and a ceasefire in Gaza, after the OIC appealed for an urgent ceasefire on October 18.
