Minister of Health and Social Protection Khalid Ait Taleb inaugurated nine urban and rural health care centers on Monday in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region.
The launch of these facilities arrived on the occasion of the commemoration of the 48th anniversary of the Green March, as Governor of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region Abdeslam Bekrate and other officials took part in this event.
At the “Al Aouda” urban health center in Laâyoune, Ait Taleb launched these facilities aimed at providing healthcare services to the population of the three provinces in the region.
These include six urban health centers (“Al Qods,” “La Ville Nouvelle,” “Al Aouda,” “Al Wifaq,” “Mohamed Salem Sidi El Boukhari,” and “25 Mars”). In addition, the rural clinic in Diaâte–as well as the urban health center “El Khir” in the Boujdour province and the “Tarfaya 2” urban facility in Tarfaya province–were initiated.
The Ministry of Health has mobilized qualified human resources to provide medical and curative services to the targeted population–estimated at over 133,000 people–to ensure the proper functioning of services in both urban and rural environments.
Patients will benefit from a variety of healthcare services, including general medical examinations, nursing care, and chronic disease monitoring–particularly with respect to diabetes and hypertension—along with maternal, pre-school, and overall student health, in addition to health education/awareness services.
“These healthcare facilities will undoubtedly help alleviate the pressure on other healthcare facilities, especially emergency services,” Ait Taleb said, adding that they are equipped with a pharmacy, modern and high-quality medical equipment, and a digital information system which enables patients to access their own medical records throughout the entire health care network.
These facilities are equipped with high-quality medical equipment and an integrated information system which records patients’ digital data, allowing them to easily access their medical records at both the regional and national levels.
