Morocco, led by its King and chairman of the Al-Quds Committee Mohammed VI, has always defended the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital, said political pundit and university researcher Saïd Ida Hassan.
In a statement to the Moroccan News Agency (MAP), Ida Hassan said that Morocco has endorsed for decades the two-state solution as a durable solution to this conflict.
The political analyst explained that despite its geographical distance from the conflict zone, Morocco maintains strong religious and historical ties with the Palestinian cause and people.
He pointed out that Morocco, via its Foreign Affairs Ministry, has raised serious concerns about the escalating Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip that could lead to a regional conflict with devastating consequences.
Morocco has recently voiced its deep concern and strong indignation regarding the increased military actions and the heightening of the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
The Kingdom also expressed sadness and dismay at the international community’s inaction, the Security Council’s failure to shoulder its responsibility, and influential nations’ unwillingness to put an end to this disastrous situation.
