Spanish police services arrested a 25-year-old Moroccan on Oct. 31, along with his partner and family in Terrassa (Barcelona), for promoting terrorism and hate crimes. The suspect was on the radar of Spain’s intelligence agency “CGI” since the summer of 2022, after Morocco’s territory surveillance services (DGST) gave it a heads-up, Spanish-speaking news outlet “EL PAIS” reported.
Said B., who was residing in Spain illegally, had 370,000 followers on the TikTok platform and identified as a “lone wolf.” His clips totaled four million likes on social media.
According to judicial sources, Spain’s National Court ordered the suspect’s imprisonment on Friday, given his prior criminal records for assault and violent robbery.
The police believe that the man was about to take action, and had recently purchased a uniform, a helmet, goggles and boots, similar to those used in airsoft war games. He was also seeking to acquire bladed weapons and has escalated his activities after Oct. 7 attacks in the Gaza Strip.
The suspect was using the internet to praise Jihadist ideology and operations in Europe, as the machete attack perpetrated by a Moroccan in two churches in Algeciras that resulted in one death among the clergy, as per the Spanish Interior Ministry.
