Advisor to Palestinian President Praises Morocco’s Support for Palestinian Right to Independent State

Mahmoud al-Habbash, the religious affairs advisor to the Palestinian President, expressed his country’s appreciation for Morocco’s position, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, in support of the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with its capital in Jerusalem.
Al-Habbash told the Moroccan News Agency (MAP) that, consistent with the broad international condemnation of aggression and violence and support for Palestinian rights, Morocco’s position on the current escalation in the Gaza Strip displays moral courage in politically supporting the Palestinian leadership and people in their struggle to form an independent state and maintain the rights of the Palestinian people, and by also calling for an end to Israel’s continuing attacks on them.
“We appreciate all the Arab positions that denounce this atrocity and support the rights of the Palestinians,” he said. “We demand an end to the genocidal war against us in the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Jerusalem.”
