Head of National Police (DGSN) and of Territory Surveillance (DGST) Abdellatif Hammouchi held a working session on Wednesday in Rabat with the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, as well as the Acting General Administrator of State Security in Belgium, who were on a working visit to Morocco.
The discussions between the officials provided an opportunity to review the cooperation between Morocco and Belgium in various areas of mutual security interest and to explore ways to strengthen and expand it to address the growing challenges and threats related to terrorism and organized transnational crime, said a statement of the DGSN.
The statement added that the meeting is part of the commitment of the DGSN and DGST to enhance mechanisms of international security cooperation and exchange of all information and expertise, to face the dangers of the terrorist threat and dismantle organized crime networks and their transnational connections.
The meeting highlights Morocco as a strong and strategic partner in regional and international efforts to enhance security, address security challenges, and counter terrorist threats.
