Bahrain is the latest country to recall its ambassador to Israel and cut trade relations with Tel Aviv, because of the Jewish country’s repeated attacks on the Gaza strip, the country’s parliament declared on Thursday.
The Bahraini parliament revealed that the Israeli ambassador had departed Bahrain, while Bahrain summoned its envoy from Israel in its resolve to cease all trade contacts with Israel.
It went on to say that the decision to withdraw its envoy and cease business connections is based on the kingdom’s “solid and historical stance that supports the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.”
In September 2020, Bahrain signed the Abraham Accords with Israel and the UAE in the United States under the presidency of Donald Trump.
