Morocco came in sixth in the MENA region and second in North Africa, with 33 enterprises profiled in “Fortune Arabia 500.” The survey compiles the 500 largest companies in the Arab world, according to Fortune Arabie.
Saudi Arabia was ranked first with more than 150 enterprises, followed by UAE with 87 businesses. Egypt took the third spot with 56 companies, Kuwait fourth with 43 enterprises, and then Oman and Morocco, which each earned 33 designations.
Egypt bested Morocco in the North Africa region, while Tunisia came third with 15 entries.
In Morocco’s Top 10 Businesses, OCP topped the list and took 22nd place at “Fortune Arabia 500,” followed by Attijariwafa Bank (47), and then Banque Centrale Populaire (68), Africa Bank (90), Total Energy (96), LabelVie (119), Cosumar (121), Managem (160), Afriquia Gaz (161), and LafargeHolcim Maroc (177).
Oil and gas behemoth Saudi Aramco pulverized the competition, followed by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, and then Algerian Sonatrach Spa.
