Casablanca police arrested a 60-year-old man with a criminal record on Saturday, on suspicion of having been involved in three intentional homicides involving the mutilation of corpses, according to a security source.
The national police (DGSN) received a report on September 17 of the disappearance of a 72-year-old woman. Investigations led to her neighbor who is believed to have lured her to his second home in Sidi Hajjaj located on the outskirts of Casablanca, where he killed her and buried her body in his backyard.
Investigations also indicated that the suspect had previously committed two similar murders, one a woman and the other a man of his acquaintance. One of the bodies was found in the same backyard as the first victim, while the third victim’s body was discovered in a nearby plot of land.
The suspect was remanded into police custody pending further investigation by the public prosecutor’s office.
