Moroccan airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will quadruple its airline fleet by 2037, with more than 100 new international destinations, announced RAM’s CEO Hamid Addou in Casablanca on Monday.
Addou presented the company’s new strategic vision and brand positioning during a press conference, saying that the national operator intends to gradually strengthen its flight program, expand its fleet, improve customer experience, and open medium- and long-haul routes on all continents by 2037.
RAM also aims to increase the number of tourists visiting Morocco to 21 million per year from 69 countries by 2037. The company aspires to become a global carrier, focused on the customer and profitability, a transcontinental hub connecting the North/South and East/West, a dedicated point-to-point service, and a national cross-network, Addou said.
He noted that Morocco’s co-organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, will improve the country’s aviation ecosystem. Additionally, RAM plans to build a cross-network connecting the 12 regions of the Kingdom with 46 serviced routes and 173 flights.
Addou highlighted the importance of considering sustainable development and decarbonization, especially as international cooperation and global tourism increasingly focus on climate action. This vision will be achieved through the introduction of next-generation aircraft, the “Fuel Efficiency Program” aimed at reducing carbon footprint by 8%, and the “Sustainable Aviation Fuel” program, aligned with the commitments of the Oneworld alliance.
“One of the key elements for the success of RAM’s new growth stage is its brand image,” he remarked. “The new dynamic expressed in our rebranding strategy embodies our ambitions as a reference company on a continental scale, proudly expressing our Moroccan and African identity. It aligns with our Kingdom’s global vision for Africa, promoting South-South cooperation and accelerating our common development in politics, economics, society, culture, and technology.”
“As an airline, with all our resources, we have an obligation to embody the best of Morocco and contribute to the continent’s growth,” he added. “This is the message conveyed by our new promise: #DREAMAFRICA#MEETMOROCCO.”
