King Mohammed VI, head of the Al-Quds Committee, ordered the distribution of emergency humanitarian supplies–containing food, water, and medical supplies–to the Palestinian people, reported Morocco’s foreign ministry on Monday.
The logistics of delivering this emergency aid will be worked out in collaboration with Egyptian and Palestinian officials.
This Royal Decision is part of King Mohammed VI’s ongoing commitment to the Palestinian cause, according to the announcement.
The Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza reopened on Saturday, allowing the very first humanitarian convoy–composed of 20 vehicles loaded with medical, food and water supplies–to enter the besieged city since the beginning of the conflict on Oct. 7.
Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment–under the leadership of King Mohammed VI–to the peace, stability, progress and prosperity of all peoples, and its readiness to cooperate with international partners to end the dire situation in Gaza, which was evidenced by the Kingdom’s participation in the Cairo Peace Summit this Saturday.
