Chinese truck-building giant Shacman officially announced its entry into Morocco in partnership with Groupe Premium (Premium Group) through its subsidiary Léopold Bérenger.
The announcement was made on Wednesday during a launch ceremony at the Amphitrite Congress Palace in Skhirat, which provided an opportunity to present the new revolutionary truck “Shacman X6000.”
Already available in Asia, the vehicle is officially considered the most powerful truck in the world, with a 16.6-liter Cummins diesel engine, combined with a 16-speed automatic transmission offering 800 horsepower, the statement notes.
Premium Group CEO Éric Lefort stated that this collaboration aims to meet the increasing demand for trucks in Morocco and stimulate the country’s economic development.
The local assembly of the Shacman X6000 highlights the skills of Morocco’s manufacturing industry while promoting job creation for the local population, he added.
For his part, Shacman CEO Tian Chao indicated that this partnership is an important step in Shacman’s development in Africa, and will allow the company to strengthen its presence in Africa, particularly in North Africa.
Shacman is one of the largest manufacturers of commercial vehicles in the world, with vehicles sold in over a hundred countries and regions. The Chinese group has been producing high-quality products and services for over 50 years.
