Marrakech will host the fifth edition of “World Folklore Day” from October 25-29, under the slogan “Unity in Diversity,” and promises an exceptional cultural event that will celebrate global traditions and promote the heritage of all nations.
The festival will feature 23 countries (Morocco, Spain, France, Armenia, Poland, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Mexico, Ghana, Andorra, Mali, Togo, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Italy, Ireland, Indonesia, Hungary, Basque Country, Switzerland, Colombia, and India), and will be represented by 32 groups, with over 750 artists engaging in sensational performances.
The event will include folk dance demonstrations specifically originating from the Al Haouz region, which was recently damaged by an earthquake, in order to pay tribute to and provide comfort and support to the earthquake victims.
Furthermore, numerous participating organizations have agreed to synchronize fundraising efforts for earthquake victims in Marrakech and Al Haouz.
Aside from its cultural significance, the event will play a crucial role in reviving tourism and economic growth in these areas.
Furthermore, the economic advantages of this event are likely to extend beyond festival earnings to a number of industries such as hotels, restaurants, and other local merchants.
